Why We’re Saying Goodbye to ClassPass (and What That Means for Moon Drop)

This is a hard note to write, because there’s a lot of gratitude wrapped up in it.
Over the years, platforms like ClassPass have helped introduce many new faces to Moon Drop. We truly love that. So many of you first found us that way, walked through our doors a little unsure, and then discovered a place where you could breathe, move, connect, and belong. For that visibility and those introductions, we are genuinely thankful.

But behind the scenes, the reality for a small, independently owned studio is much more complicated.
When a class is booked through ClassPass, we receive only about 25% of our regular drop-in rate. That amount doesn’t come close to covering what it actually costs to hold a class - paying teachers fairly, maintaining the space, utilities, insurance, rent, cleaning, and all the quiet details that make the experience feel welcoming and grounded.
Large fitness chains can absorb that kind of loss because they operate on scale. Small studios like ours cannot. We don’t have dozens of locations or corporate backing. We have this one space, this one community, and a very real set of monthly expenses that don’t shrink just because a booking came through a third party.
So, with a lot of thought and care, we’ve made the decision to turn off ClassPass starting Monday, March 2.
This isn’t about closing doors. It’s about trying to keep them open.
If you found us through ClassPass and have been meaning to come back, we would love to welcome you more fully into this community. The most meaningful ways to support the studio now are:
Becoming a monthly member
Purchasing a class pack and using it at your own pace
Simply choosing to book directly with us when you practice here
Those choices ensure that your investment goes straight into sustaining this space — the teachers, the environment, and the continuation of something that we believe is truly special.
We know not everyone can commit, and there is absolutely no pressure or expectation. Even just understanding why we’re making this shift means a lot to us.
Moon Drop has never been just about yoga classes. It’s about creating a place where people feel a little more human when they leave than when they arrived.
Thank you for being part of that story, in whatever way you are able.
With gratitude,
Moon Drop
